Stephi Joubert -Â Events long past
20 May to 15 June 2023Â
As from Saturday 20 May 2023 at 11:00 art lovers can step into fantasy landscapes shaped by events outside of reality at the Association of Arts Pretoria with an exhibition by Stephanie Joubert called Events Long Past. “These events are woven together in a subconscious yearning for the familiar long dissolved in the past’s ephemeral sigh.â€Â However, by using line and colour, Joubert anchors the images in reality. These works are truly breath-taking in concept, use of colour and application by the artist.
Â
Stephanie (better known as Stephi) Joubert’s career as artist started as part of group exhibitions. Without any formal training, she qualified for a solo exhibition at the Association of Arts Pretoria in May 2015, selling all but one work. Later in 2015 she partook in a pottery group exhibition at the very same venue. In 2016 Stephi was a finalist in the Longstreet Art Lovers competition. Later that year she took part in the G & W Tellus Sculptura: an exhibition of ceramic sculpture and plates. Many, many more exhibitions followed. In October 2022 she took part in the Pretoria Arts Association 75th birthday exhibition for artists 60 years and older. Stephi was also invited to exhibit in The Joy of Art hosted by Tina Skukan Gallery in January 2023. In February 2023 she was part of the annual Members’ exhibition of the Association of Arts Pretoria.
Â
