Karma Bosman - Droom Karoo

Karma Bosman describes her medium as dipping pen and ink on paper.  “I developed this dream-like, rather oily texture with dipping pens and an idea of the interconnection between energetic fields of matter, to capture the way rigid shapes sometimes melt into each other when the mind loses its formal focus.  The Karoo landscape and its inhabitants have served as subjects for the past three years.”.
 
Karma was born in Durban, after which she moved around the country with her mother who was her early artistic influence.  She studied Graphic Design and illustrated children's books.  Conceptually her focus remains on themes of absolute change and the interchange between dualities that enable existence; the breath and the spirit of life; the chaos of divine order.
