Jaco Benade & Marieke Prinsloo-Rowe
An exhibition of painting and sculpture
27 May 2016 to 14 June 2016
Jaco Benade
is a painter who started his art career in 1996 and since then held a number of very successful solo exhibitions. His sensitive portrait and landscape studies are much sought-after, not only for their visual beauty but also for their fine artistic qualities. He paints nostalgic images of persons he knew, emotions he felt and possessions he had. With radiant portraits and exquisite tapestries of flowers and broken objects, he captures the randomness as well as the richness of human experience.Marieke Prinsloo-Rowe
is a young sculptor with an impressive record of solo exhibitions, awards and public commissions, some of monumental proportions. Her sculptures depict the human form as a dancer, the young girl dreaming to dance, a quiet figure given to the magic of reading, a young woman as an angel ready to fly, a mother-to-be tenderly touching the life within her. She says: “My sculptured figures are carriers of stories and dreams, honouring the past and hopes for the futureâ€.Â
