Potter of the Month: July 2018
Carolyn HeydenrychCarolyn Heydenrych
1 July 2018 to 25 July 2018
Heydenrich likes to explore the concept of weightlessness and she likes drawing with a black pen on a white surface. The imagery reflects her architectural background and is depicted by drawings of buildings seemingly floating on the surfaces, negating gravity. She uses thin porcelain walls to create translucence with light shining through the walls in different shades.
Lately, Carolyn has been exploring the delight of pure pattern, using it to have a cut out effect as in collage. Transparency is also an aspect of her work, as will be seen in her mobiles.
